Burger King Free Fry Friday Film Fiesta

Welcome to the Fiesta!

We're nearing the end of 2011, meaning Hollywood is in a sort of holding pattern. Does anyone else feel this way? Usually we get one, maybe two good movies between December and March. That's a whole lot of crap!

Last week I asked you which recent (2000-present) movie needs to be remade. And, I kid you not, the result was a TIE between Jack and Jill and Other (Please Specify)! And since HitmanClark was the only person to specify which film (Wolverine), I hereby declare that Wolverine (2009) and Jack and Jill need to be remade!

THE FIESTA HATH SPOKEN.

Oh, and it was also the smallest turnout in Revived FFF poll history!

-- Box Office News: It's the lowest grossing weekend since Labor Day 2008! How about that!
-- Trailer Time: G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Men in Black 3, Battleship, ParaNorman, Rock of Ages, The Dictator, Kill List, The Expendables 2, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, MS One: Maximum Security, Perfect Sense, Dracula 3D, and Jack the Giant Killer
-- In Theaters This Week: Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and in limited markets, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
-- Next Week's Notable DVD Releases: It's the pre-Christmas rush with Dolphin Tale, Midnight in Paris, Columbiana, Warrior, Glee: The Movie (how in the HELL did this crap already get a movie?), Straw Dogs and Margin Call (12/20)

-- We begin with an email from the Anonymous Raw GLENNeral Manager. His email read, AND I QUOTE: "Speaking of Pulp Fiction." Now keen eyes will notice that I posted this same video in last week's Fiesta, but I'll forgive Glenn because he sexifies all of our threads. But make sure to watch the video before SOPA becomes a law!
-- George Takei wants Trekkies and Warsies to join forces against the Vampire Menace. To quote Glenn's avatar, "My fandom can deal with it." Also, how did I miss Shatner's response to Carrie Fisher?
-- Nominations have been announced for the Golden Globes as well as the Critics Choice Awards
-- The 2011 Guide to Making People Feel Old Using Movies!
-- Speaking of 2011, Screened posts a montage of 2011 in Film
-- MORE 2011 in review, as AFI selects the Top 10 Films of the year
-- 2012 comes after 2011, so naturally, Screened also briefly previews next year's movies
-- MOAR lists! Here are the SAG Nominees and 2011's best unproduced screenplays
-- The Spielberg Face
-- Austin Powers on Broadway!
-- Oh, Natalie Portman MAD
-- Paramount celebrates their 100th Anniversary
-- Want a sequel to Drive? Gotta pick up the book and READ. THE HORROR!
-- Christian Bale and some Chinese dude are finished, professionally
-- Rejected horror movie posters
-- So it's come to this: Directors remaking their own movies
-- Nolan talks The Dark Knight Rises

And that brings us to this week's poll.

Open to: all, results viewable to: all
Are new details about The Dark Knight Rises making you excited for the film?
Yes, they make my Dark Knight Rise
No, they make my Dark Knight Fall
ENOUGH PENIS JOKES

On a content note, the schedule for the Fiesta is up in the air for the next two weeks. It's looking like there won't be a Fiesta next week, but I will try to have one ready for December 30. If that fails, expect the same two-week hiatus that everything else is taking!
