The Diddly Scoop on Big Brother 20 (June 28, 2018)

Welcome to my second Big Brother recap! Tonight I am reviewing Season 20, Episode 2. Original Airdate: June 28, 2018.

A video recaps last night's events, where Swaggy C defeated Angela in a competition to win immunity for 8 of the 16 Houseguests. Swaggy C selected the 8 people he came into the house with, which upset Kaitlyn and Angela because they thought their two groups had an alliance. Meanwhile, Kaycee must wear the "Pinwheel of Doom" and Sam must control an actual robot.

No live intro from Julie Chen, as we pick up right where we left off last night. Angela is pissed at Swaggy's betrayal. Scottie is thrilled to be safe. Robot Sam is scared that she will be the first evicted because she's a robot. Angela and Kaitlyn talk shit about Swaggy in the pantry and Swaggy overhears them and eavesdrops for a second. "They're idiots," Swaggy says. That night, Kaitlyn meditates and realizes Swaggy was looking out for himself, and apologizes to Swaggy for getting upset. She wants good vibes, and Swaggy appreciates that she is coming forward.

It's the next day and everyone is getting used to the BB House, i.e. working out and tanning in swimsuits at the pool. For those who don't enjoy working out or tanning, Kaitlyn instructs yoga sessions. Sam is allowed to temporarily become her human self again. JC misses the robot because he thinks it's sexy.

It's time for the first Head of Household competition of the summer. The competitors must walk across a balance beam, grab a ball, walk back, and place the balls in a container with someone else's name. If anyone falls, they lose the balls they've put in and must start over. Sam is the first eliminated, followed by Steve, then Kaitlyn, Winston, Angela, then JC. It comes down to Tyler and Bayleigh, with Tyler winning, meaning Tyler wins the Head of Household and has to elect

Back in the kitchen, everyone congratulates Tyler. Steve is unhappy with his historically bad performance. Swaggy and Kaitlyn plot to take Angela out since she's an athletic threat. Sam breaks down in front of Rachel, feeling like nobody likes her. She feels shunned because of the robot thing. Rachel encourages her to speak about her safety with Tyler. Tyler doesn't trust Bayleigh. Winston, Rachel, and Angela have a discussion and try to get Kaycee on their side. Winston also recruits Brett, and the ultimate goal is for all of them to get Tyler on their side to form a mega-team of 6.

Winston speaks with Tyler about the alliance, but Tyler doesn't like the options for elimination that leaves him with. Sam is about to speak to Tyler but is forced to become a robot again. RoboSam speaks to Tyler in the kitchen and lets her feelings out about how she feels alone. Tyler says she's not an outcast and that she isn't the target. Tyler feels bad for Sam and doesn't think he can put her up for eviction.

Tyler speaks with Kaitlyn, Rockstar, and Faysar and they recommend targeting Winston and Angela. Swaggy comes into the room and recommends the same since putting up weak people will be too easy. Tyler sees right through this pitch and sees that Swaggy wants Angela out.

Now it's Bayleigh's turn to speak with Tyler, and she thinks the two have bad blood. Bayleigh recommends Tyler keep the most heat off of him as possible and nominate Sam and Steve. Tyler thinks she's part of the Swaggy alliance and is debating putting Bayleigh up for eviction.

It's time for Tyler to choose his nominees for eviction. He pulls out the keys for RoboSam and Steve. Both are frustrated at being nominated so early. Tyler reveals he did it because it was the best move for him to be in everyone's good graces. Swaggy is mad Tyler has no balls.

I thought the eviction ceremony would be tonight but it looks like they're holding off for a few episodes. Sunday is the first BB App Store episode, and you can watch Big Brother After Dark on POP! TV at 1am EST! If I recap the Sunday episode, cool, but it might not be likely, so I'll return with another recap next week!

And last but not least, I promised at least one raunchy screencap or photo per review, and since there are no live feeds yet, enjoy Angela in a bikini from her introduction during the premiere. (hidden behind a link to keep this column work safe)

The Diddly Scoop on Big Brother 20: Season Premiere (June 27, 2018)

Hello! I'm Diddly of The Daily Hang. You might remember me from the comment sections of all of the daily threads.

The other day, Matt Indeed mentioned how he wanted people to send him various articles or reviews, and seeing as the new season of Big Brother premiered just a few days later, I jumped at the chance to provide content. So here we are. My plan is to review at least 2 of the 3 weekly episodes for the next several months up to the finale in September. Or until I get bored and give up. Whichever comes first. I only started watching Big Brother a few years ago, even though my family has watched pretty much since the beginning.

I will just be reviewing the edited episodes that air on CBS, and not the live feeds. Though thanks to Reddit, I will add any humorous videos or photos of events that occur. Let's get to it!

Season 20 begins with host Julie Chen welcoming us and throwing out some statistics from the past 20 seasons. This is a 2 night premiere, with tonight's two hour episode followed by tomorrow night's one hour eviction episode. Chen talks about technological advancements that have occurred since the show debuted in 2000, and technology will also be the main theme this summer. But first, let's meet the new houseguests!

We're introduced first to Sam, who is a full time welder from Stuarts Draft, Virginia. She has a very southern accent and lives in an RV in her mom's yard.

Next we meet Tyler, a lifeguard from Hilton Head, South Carolina. He compares the Big Brother house to a pressure cooker. His advantage is his brain, not his laid back demeanor.

It's Bayleigh, from Lee's Summit, Missouri, and the first ever African-American Miss Missouri, USA. She currently works as a flight attendant, who only does her job when she has to. Her dealing with the general public will give her an advantage in the game, and the other houseguests should watch out. Turbulence is on its way!

Here's Steve, a retired NYPD narcotics detective currently teaching criminal justice at the university level. He enjoys taking bubble baths too. He'll be back undercover in the BB House despite being one of the older contestants.

Kaitlyn is from Encino, California, and she is a yoga instructor and a psychic. She's 90% Love and Lights and 10% Go Screw Yourself.

Winston is from Somerset, Kentucky. He loves guns and the 2nd Amendment. The only thing he loves more than guns is Donald Trump. Kidding! It's actually his dog. He's been in 6 weddings but is still single.

Angela is a fitness model from Playa Vista, California, who kicks ass in addition to being pretty. She's a better athlete than most men, and usually has to tone things down to not emasculate men.

JC is a professional dancer from West Hollywood, California. He is what the Internet refers to as a Manlet, i.e. he's short. He's also a homosexual. People discriminate against him for these two things but he always maintains a positive attitude.

Julie brings the first 8 competitors before the live studio audience and welcomes them to the game. The guests give up their phones, laptops, and other technology for the next 90 days and enter the house as groups. The first group inside is Sam, Bayleigh, Tyler, and Winston.

Steve, JC, Angela, and Kaitlyn enter the house next, and will also be a group of four. The groups introduce themselves to each other and admire the house. Tyler is mad because Angela was born in Hilton Head, which is bad because now people will think they know each other. Tyler thinks Angela is hot though (she is).

Back from a commercial, and we see some former houseguests in the studio audience. But Julie has to introduce us to the remaining 8 houseguests.

First is Rachel from Las Vegas, Nevada. She works as a showgirl. Thanks to our horny friends on Reddit's /r/BigBrotherNSFW, we also know that Rachel is an actress who has a movie role as a topless stripper. You can see that NSFW photo HERE (NSFW; VIEW IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN HOME AND NOT AT WORK).

Chris is a former college basketball player turned day trader. His nickname is Swaggy C. He refers to himself in the third person, and he's here to win.

Angie is up next, but people call her Rockstar. She looks like a raver and has pink hair. She's our stereotypical liberal who asks lots of questions. She'll miss her 3 kids.

Brett is a bro who does bro stuff and is a manly man. He works as a cyber security engineer and considers himself to be a true American Patriot. Someone get Tim Allen on the phone!

Kaycee is from San Diego, California, and plays football for the San Diego Surge. She's a tomboy and most people compare her to Odell Beckham, Jr.

Scottie is from Chicago, he's 26, a dweeb, and has never had sex, a relationship, or even a kiss. He hopes his first kiss can be witnessed by a national television audience. He enjoys D&D, and is very strategic. He's playing 4D chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

Hayleigh is from Village Mills, Texas, and attends Texas A&M University. My alma mater! She's also hot, so I'm rooting for her. She's a farm girl and knows how to get down and dirty, but she's more sophisticated than any ordinary country bumpkin.

Faysal is a football coach in Orlando, Florida who played football at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is a proud Muslim and is very close to his family, at least until the Trump Administration separates them and bans them from the country.

Julie brings this group of eight before the live audience and allows them to enter the house in their groups. The first group is Hayleigh, Scottie, Faysal, and Kaycee. The second group is Rachel, Swaggy C, Rockstar, and Brett. They meet each other, plus the other houseguests. Scottie hugs Hayleigh and her dress strap falls down, so Scottie feels awkward. Brett thinks JC is a bro. Swaggy C wants to work out with Faysal.

There is a weird screen in the kitchen and nobody knows what it does. People are already talking and others are suspicious of the groups being formed. A few secret bedrooms are discovered behind sliding walls thanks to Steve. The houseguests celebrate Day 1 by popping champagne and making their official introductions to each other. Sam thinks JC is cute, but does not approve of his sexuality. Rachel is attracted to Winston. Faysal thinks Hayleigh is gorgeous. Hayleigh wants to be his teacher's pet. Tyler is freaked out by Steve. Nobody knows what Kaitlyn actually does. Scottie is going to avoid the femme fatales aka the hot girls. Kaitlyn doesn't like Rachel's aura. Tyler hates that there are so many hotties in the house, and would give mouth to mouth to all of them. The houseguests toast their champagne.

After a commercial, Julie welcomes the houseguests into the BB House and surprises them by announcing the first challenge. The groups of 8 are combined and will be playing against each other. They are taken into the "BB Supercomputer" and the catch is that the winners of the competitions will have the power to protect 2 of the 4 groups. The other 2 groups will face eviction. The BB Supercomputer crashes and the houseguests are separated into the "trash folder."

The first group of 8 have to take folders to a specific location and see what the folder contains. One houseguest will find a specific folder allowing them to advance to another competition. The one houseguest to not find a folder will receive a punishment. The 8 guests must search around a dark room filled with fog and other obstacles and gross out items. Angela gets the Escape and Play folder and advances into the competition, while Kaycee is unable to find a folder.

After a commercial, it's time to see the other 8 houseguests compete. They are attached to wire cables and must stack blocks on top of each other to form the word "houseguests." If the blocks fall over, they must start over. The first person to stack their blocks advances to face Angela in the next competition while the last person to stack their blocks will receive a punishment. Swagy C is the first person to stack his blocks while Sam is the one to be punished.

Swaggy C and Angela talk and immediately try to forge an alliance for their groups, but Swaggy is also suspicious of Bayleigh. Swaggy is offended by Angela saying she would keep her original 8 safe, of which Swaggy is not a part of. The competition between Swaggy and Angela is a mechanical surfing competition. The two have to wear these shiny pleather bodysuits and Angela looks amazing in hers. The two have to avoid obstacles while remaining on the surfboards. Eventually Angela falls off, and Swaggy C wins. He gets to pick which two groups to remain safe this week. Angela is sad she lost because she's an athlete, but she trusts the "deal" she made with Swaggy earlier. Bayleigh things she and Swaggy have formed a bond, so she believes her group to be safe.

Back inside the house, Swaggy C has a difficult decision to make. He wants to keep Angela safe, but feels betrayed by her plan to keep her 8 safe. Bayleigh is concerned about asking Swaggy to keep her entire group safe, but Bayleigh will do anything to not be evicted. Others are concerned for their safety because nobody wants to be the first person evicted. Swaggy feels like he can trust the original 8 he came in with... for now. Every houseguest pleads their case to Swaggy.

The punishments for Kaycee and Sam are then revealed; Kaycee has to wear a ridiculous outfit called the "Pinwheel of Doom" for the next 2 weeks. Remember the weird screen I mentioned earlier? It's actually part of a robot. Sam must "perform" as this robot for the "next several weeks." This is either the greatest thing ever, or the "jump the shark moment" of the season.

Julie gathers the houseguests and asks Swaggy to decide which 8 houseguests he will save. Swaggy first decides to save himself, meaning his group with Rachel, Rockstar, and Brett is also safe. Swaggy then decides to save the group containing Hayleigh, Scottie, Faysal, and Kaycee, which makes the 8 that he walked in with safe. One of the remaining 8 houseguests will be evicted, and compete in the Head of Household competition on Thursday night.

Julie closes out the show explaining the twist of the season: the BB App Store. Apparently we can go online and vote for contestants, where the biggest vote getter will "trend" and earn rewards, while the houseguest with the least weekly votes will be punished. Those votes will be revealed on Sundays. The episode ends with Swaggy overhearing Kaitlyn and Angela talking shit about his choice to save his original group.

A long, action packed episode! Thanks for reading, and I will be back tomorrow to review the 1 hour eviction episode!
