What a time to be alive

Last week you were asked if you would buy the unedited, original Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-Ray/DVD, and you tied with both yes and meh.

  • Box Office News: What's old is new again
  • Trailer Time: Check out new trailers for Gone Girl, Rosewater and more!
  • In Theaters This Week: As Above, So Below and The November Man
  • Next Week's Notable DVD Releases: Draft Day, Mom's Night Out and various TV shows

  • RIP Richard Attenborough
  • One of Bryan Singer's accusers has dropped the sexual assault lawsuit
  • Apparently there is a boycott against the latest Ridley Scott movie Exodus
  • As reported here a few weeks back, Universal is bringing back their original monsters. Now it's being reported that they are banking on the monsters to reach Marvel popularity
  • Steve Carell is rebooting the Looney Tunes franchise
  • The original Godzilla movies are being restored to "4K definition" and will not contain any edits
  • The, ugh, Vacation reboot is assembling its cast. Is Anthony Michael Hall too busy to play older Rusty Griswold?
  • In honor of last week's poll, there is a version of Star Wars that George Lucas doesn't want you to see. Speaking of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back was spoiled in 1978 by David Prowse himself! Oh, and the new film has resumed production
  • Why does James Franco like to challenge himself?
  • Martin Scorsese plans to make a film about The Ramones
  • Ah-Nold joins the zombie craze
  • Yes, people still read the books movies are based on
  • Here are 64 films to look out for this fall

And that brings us to this week's poll.

Last year you were asked what your favorite Blog year was, and you tied, so we'll ask you again. What has been your favorite year of the Blog of Doom?
    2007
    2009
Those years sucked! I have another favorite

    Everybody's Working for the Weekend

I've been housesitting for my parents and had to pick up extra shifts at work, so let's get to it.

Last week I asked what the best Robin Williams movie is, and you answered both Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting.

  • Box Office News: Old men are weak and old!
  • Trailer Time: Check out new trailers for Automata, Nightcrawler and more!
  • In Theaters This Week: If I Stay, Sin City: A Dame to Kill and When the Game Stands Tall
  • Next Week's Notable DVD Releases: Blended and The Love Punch

  • Disney plans to release the original, unaltered Star Wars trilogy on home video, probably around Christmas 2015 when they will need to hype some big franchise revival
  • Remember the Tom Cruise flick Edge of Tomorrow that came out all the way back in June 2014? Warner Brothers is so embarrassed by it that they are changing its name to Live, Die, Repeat for the Blu-Ray release
  • Jackie Chan doesn't want Rush Hour 4 if it will be a bad movie
  • Robin Williams' final film may be shelved
  • The Doctor Strange movie will not be an origin story
  • Coming 2015: a sequel to Galaxy Quest... in comic book form
  • Terry Crews wants a crossover film between The Fast and the Furious and The Expendables
  • Continuity continues in Age of Ultron
  • Speaking of Marvel, Ant-Man finally began production this week
  • Nepotism is still alive in Hollywood
  • The PG-13 rating has ruined the action movie
  • 3D Netflix could be in our future
  • Who knew the MPAA is homophobic?
  • The new 007 film wants big, imposing henchmen

And that brings us to this week's poll.

Will you buy the unaltered Star Wars trilogy if released on Blu-Ray/DVD?YesNoMehI'm a Star Trek Guy

    A Flubberless Fiesta

It has been a busy and deadly week in Hollywood, so let's just calm down for a second and check out Maria's ass thanks to the help of the NJPW cameramen.

Last week I asked you if you wanted the Deadpool movie to happen, and you answered no.

  • Box Office News: Another Michael Bay movie absolutely dominates and makes undeserving people lots of money. This is why we can't have nice things, guys.
  • Trailer Time: Check out new trailers for Mortdecai, The Prince and more!
  • In Theaters This Week: Let's Be Cops, The Expendables 3 and The Giver
  • Next Week's Notable DVD Releases: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and The Quiet Ones

  • RIP Hollywood Icons
  • Jason Momoa has apparently been tapped to play Aquaman in Dawn of Justice. Aquaman is also getting his own film
  • SPEAKING OF Dawn of Justice, the ending has supposedly already been filmed (SPOILERS)
  • Meanwhile, some people think DC's plan to roll out lots of movies is a bad idea
  • The documentary film Blackfish, which focuses on SeaWorld's treatment of killer whales, really did hurt SeaWorld in the wallet
  • Bad Boys 3 is coming, as is Godzilla 2
  • Transformer5 will not be directed by Michael Bay
  • Marvel is planning an Inhumans movie. One movie they aren't planning, however, is a film based on Black Widow

  • Zoe Saldana just wants you to find her attractive
  • The Power Rangers reboot has a release date
  • Presenting the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel: Leatherface
  • The redesigned Stormtrooper for the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy has been leaked. FUN STORY: The guy who leaked these images is an artist by the name of Tom Hodges, who went by the name of "Ray 'N Quiet Rob" on several Star Wars websites. He was commissioned to draw some crappy comics for StarWars.com around 2002 and got a big head because of it. In early 2004, he leaked a bunch of photos from Revenge of the Sith online and somehow escaped punishment from Lucasfilm. Some people just can't keep a secret!

And that brings us to this week's poll.

What is your favorite Robin Williams film?
    Popeye
    Good Morning Vietnam
    Dead Poets Society
    Hook
    Aladdin
    Mrs. Doubtfire
    Jumanji
    Good Will Hunting

    Cowabunga!

Today sees the ruining of yet another popular franchise by either Michael Bay or M. Night Shyamalan, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! I'm not a TMNT fan but I'll be sure to mourn with them.

I did once own a VHS tape containing several episodes of the late 80's Turtles cartoon. I remember April being really curvy and wearing a really small jacket. Let's see if we can't Google what she looked like...

Ah, there we go. Last week I asked you what the worst summer movie season has been over the last eight years, and you answered 2006.

  • Prepare your body for nine DC movies in the next six years. We should find out some of these movies by the end of the month

  • How can you help get the Deadpool movie made?
  • Coming next summer: a reboot of Poltergeist

And that brings us to this week's poll.

Do you want the Deadpool movie to happen?

    No
