Saturday Screen Siesta

Long week this week IRL, so let's get to things.

Last week I asked you which of the best "Big 4" networks had the best fall lineup, and 66% of you answered FOX.

-- In Theaters This Week: Men In Black 3 and Chernobyl Diaries
-- Next Week's Notable DVD Releases: Man On A Ledge, Gone, and Goon

-- From Glenn: Every Rihanna line from Battleship. Where is the one involving her cake?

Friggin' Triple F

Welcome to the Fiesta!

I suppose I should apologize for last week, but nah. Jope's Fiesta is still awful, but only slightly more awful than my heel turn last week. To be honest, I had a much better speech worked out... and then I forgot it. Oh well.

I'm not here to impress the Internet, I'm simply here to provide YOU with news from the film industry, and give you a place to discuss movies, TV, and even music if you so desire. And that's what I will do!

Last week I asked you if you actually read "A Bloody Good Time" and 100% of you answered NO! Of course, my poll was a little biased.

-- Box Office News: The Avengers continue to assemble, this time over "Mr. Originality" Tim Burton!
-- Trailer Time: The Good Doctor, Hit And Run, Won't Back Down, The Possession, The Words, and Hyde Park on Hudson
-- In Theaters This Week: The Dictator, What To Expect When You’re Expecting and Battleship
-- Next Week’s Notable DVD Releases: The Woman In Black, This Means War, and Red Tails

As usual, we begin with links submitted by The Glennlivet:
-- MGM circa 1943
-- Walt Disney Presents: Taxi Driver!
-- Could you imagine?

-- Nick Stahl is missing
-- Fall Lineups have been announced for FOX, ABC and NBC. In other news, CBS has canceled CSI: Miami, thus ending my dreams of an episode dedicated to the Callahands
-- JoBlo looks at the Top 12 Stephen King movies
-- Meet the new Blade Runner, same as the old Blade Runner
-- SOME CHICKS ARE MAKING OUT
-- SEQUEL is our secret word! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
-- Finally, someone in Hollywood with original ideas!
-- You, too, can join COBRA
-- DC wants The Rock. So go out and get him!
-- The Avengers is the highest grossing Disney film EVER
-- We end things with a Tom Cruise update

And that brings us to this week's poll.

Which network has the best TV lineup this fall?
ABC
CBS
FOX
NBC

Let's Get Comical RETURNS

Well, kinda. I still have A LOT of catching up to do, so I decided I'll be slowly posting review columns as I read stuff. I have caught up on most Batman and Spider-Man related stuff, but I haven't written anything about them yet.

So let's kick things off with a single review of a series I'm just now starting: The Walking Dead!

The Walking Dead #97

Bear with me as I'm just starting off, and my only exposure to the comic series has been the TV show, so really none at all. Though I DO want to pick up the graphic novel collections at some point. This is the beginning of a new story arch. A church of survivors prays for the safe return of Rick, Carl, Andrea and Michonne, who are getting supplies from somewhere up the road. They are coming back when they are confronted by a biker gang that refers to themselves as "Negan." They speak for him, you see, and demand all of the weapons from Rick's crew. However, Rick and company easily dispatch of some random bikers and tells Negan to tell Leader Negan that Rick is protecting them from zombies in exchange for half of their supplies. Zombies show up to devour the dead, and someone points out how decayed they are. These zombies have been around for a while. Everyone comes home and Maggie tells Glenn that she's pregnant. Meanwhile, Andrea and Rick talk about a kiss they had. Two guys are then searching around for something talking about how safe they feel, but there are men with weapons hiding in alleys as they walk down the street. Not a good way for me to get into the series, as I have no clue who a lot of these people are, but I'm obviously not about to give up, so we'll see what happens.

So yeah, one review. Big deal. But more are coming! I promise!

Unless I decide I want to get with a chick again.

Another Live Wrestling Report - Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors

So last week I returned home from another night of drowning my sorrows in alcohol and couldn't sleep, so I hopped on Facebook. There was a weird side ad featuring Melina and Chavo Guerrero that made mention of them coming to town this weekend for some independent wrestling show, so after doing some Googling, I find out that the show is for Lucha Libre USA, the guys that had a show on MTV last year. I didn't make plans to go but as luck would have it, I show up to work the night of the show and they don't need me. This happens every weekend and I usually stay anyway but I'm sick of their bullshit so I left and decided to attend the show.

Here's a brief recap.

Jope Sucks

What the hell is wrong with you people?

Let’s go back to March 2012. The 37th Annual WELPie Awards. I won a WELPie for my use of Thomas the Tank Engine avatars. While I was honored to win the award, it also hit me that perhaps I spend too much time on the Internet. So I decided to step away and post less, focusing on improving my social life. This includes seeing movies such as The Avengers.

Then here comes this guy Jope who thinks he’s so cool because he fills in for me when I am unable to write the Fiesta (my second missed column of the year, with the first being canceled due to the WELPies, thank you very much). Jope presents the biggest piece of shit of a column I’ve ever seen on the Blog (and that’s saying something), and you people EAT IT UP WITH A SPOON.

Let’s briefly take a look at why Jope's Fiesta was more of a FAILesta:

-- No Box Office News. How are the people supposed to find out how much money Think Like A Man made?
-- No Movie Release list. How are the people supposed to know what they can see in the theaters that weekend?
-- No DVD release list. How are the people supposed to know which new DVDs they can purchase next week?
-- Only a handful of trailers listed in Trailer Time. Granted that’s my least favorite part of the column too, but at least I show EVERY new trailer.
-- Use of link shorteners. At least you can SEE where my links take you. What if Jope was trying to send you to a NSFW Web page while you were at work?

In conclusion, Jope is poopy, and so are YOU for posting in his threads. That’s right, HEEL TURN ON THE BLOG.

Last week Jope was going to ask you some sort of question, but his worthless ass couldn’t even get the poll to work. How does this guy write columns when he can’t even master simple HTML?

-- Box Office News: The Avengers made A LOT of money
-- Trailer Time: The Art of Rap, Neil Young Journeys, Argo, Killer Joe, Crazy Eyes, The Tortured, Gangster Squad, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and The Campaign
-- In Theaters This Week: Dark Shadows
-- Next Week's Notable DVD Releases: Chronicle, The Devil Inside, The Grey, One for the Money, Albert Nobbs, and Rampart

We begin with links sent in by Glenn, who is better than Jope:

-- Jar Jar Binks explained!
-- The 40 Coolest Movie Posters
-- A Found Footage Christian Movie?

-- So listen, Arthur, closely to this news: We won't succeed on Broadway, if you don't have any Jews
-- Disney has already begun development on The Avengers II
-- Rotten Tomatoes previews this summer's indie films. Jope will probably bitch about how mean ole Spider-Man and Batman are preventing his theaters from showing these movies
-- Breaking news on The Lizard's penis
-- Oh how far Michael Madsen has fallen
-- James Cameron is IN THE BUSINESS~!!!
-- Apparently we're getting Kick Ass 2
-- Presenting the Oliver Stone Experience!
-- Gary Busey and The Hoff join forces to hype Piranha 3DD
-- Spidey Interviewin' Spidey
-- Here comes another Stephen King movie
-- Oh, no
-- OH DEAR GOD NO

And that brings us to this week's poll.

Do you actually read A Bloody Good Time?

No
No
